Campbell: We are on the right track

Ryan Campbell has praised his Durham team for their positive approach to the start of the season and is thrilled at what he is seeing from the squad.

“I think we are playing really positive cricket and we are seeming to be at the driving wheel of most of the games we have played in. That is what we are striving to do, the batters are getting in and making scores and giving the bowlers enough time to take wickets and our bowling attack has been pretty good so far.”

So far this season, Durham lost a close encounter to Sussex, won a thriller against Worcestershire and dominated last week’s fixture against Glamorgan in Cardiff.

“I know this sounds a cliché, but we are about trying to get better every game and from where we have been to where we are now, we are on the right track.”

Campbell who is delighted with what he has seen from both his batters and bowlers so far this summer knows Durham can raise the levels already set.

He added: When you think Potts will come in next game and we will have to tinker a bit to get him, so we are in a pretty good spot.

“Trevaskis came into the Glamorgan game as the all-rounder and did a great job with the bat but we had probably always chosen a medium pacer who has done that role. So, with Bas de Leede and Bushnell still out injured there is still something there to be had.”
