Birmingham Bears: Customer Guide

I’m thinking about coming to Tuesday’s T20 against Birmingham Bears – how much are tickets & where can I buy them?

Tickets are available on the gate priced at £20 for adults and £5 for children.

All Stars members wearing their All Stars kit will gain FREE entry to the ground.

If you make a (good!) last minute decision to come down, tickets are available via Gate Two at the ground.

We have our tickets, now to plan on getting down to the Emirates Riverside?

Car parking is available in the council car parks opposite the ground at highly reasonable prices – £2 for the afternoon.

Go North East also offer local bus services from major cities; Newcastle, Sunderland and Durham. Visit their website here to see their routes and timetables.

The nearest train station is Chester-le-Street although access by bus is also available via Durham station, too, which is on the East Coast mainline. Chester-le-Street is about a mile from the ground and within walking distance for some; Durham requires a short taxi ride to complete the final leg of your journey.

I’m planning my trip – what time is best to arrive?

Gates open for the game at 4:30pm on Tuesday, with the match starting at 6:30pm.

We advise you get down as early as possible to soak up the pre-game atmosphere and get involved in the wide range of activities on offer for all ages! The Liontrust Family Zone will be open two hours before the game with a number of games for adults and youngster alike, including batting, bowling and fielding games.

Our aim is to bring entertainment throughout the whole time you are inside the ground, not just while the cricket is being played!

If I come that early, I’ll need somewhere to eat and drink…

The club offer a number of different catering facilities at each match, so there is something for all tastes!

Spectators are not permitted to bring their own alcohol for Vitality Blast matches.

Three hours is sometimes too long for the kids – is there anything else to do during the match?

Our activities often run throughout the game so the little ones can be entertained throughout! Chester and River, our mascots, will also be out and about during play.

Kids are also welcome to bring their cricket bats and Kwik Cricket/tennis balls to recreate the actions of their heroes during the game, space is plentiful for pop-up games of cricket at any time – and of course the Liontrust Family Zone will be open two hours before the game and includes a batting simulator, fielding inflatables, the Durham Cricket speed cage and many more activities.
