An update from Tim Bostock, CEO

Traditionally the season would now be underway and we would all be looking forward to a summer of cricket with our friends and families.

Unfortunately, due to the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic Cricket is on hold whilst everyone concentrates on making sure friends and family stay safe and well.

At Durham Cricket we continue to take steps to protect our staff. Staff and players have been working from home for a number of weeks now and where people are unable to work, they have now been placed on furlough. This will help protect the club financially.

We are however committed to ensuring everyone receives their full pay and are topping everyone up so they continue to receive 100% of their salary. We are also in contact with all of our staff on a regular basis to ensure everyone has the support they need.

We remain in close contact with the ECB and other clubs and discussions are ongoing as to how the season could take shape. At this stage a number of plans are being drawn up, but as you will appreciate, there are a lot of unknowns and Cricket, as with all aspects of life, will be guided by the governments advice as the situation develops.

We will of course keep members, fans and customer as up to date as possible throughout this time.

Emirates Riverside and the club box office remain closed and we thank everyone for their understanding and patience at this time.

We will endeavour to keep everyone up to date and provide some engaging and useful content through our website and social media pages and we would encourage everyone to follow us through these channels.

As we head into the Easter Bank Holiday weekend, a time traditionally associated with seeing friends and families, I’d like to take this opportunity to wish everyone associated with the Durham Cricket family a safe weekend and I hope you are all keeping well and looking after each other

We would also like to thank all frontline staff who are risking their own health and wellbeing to save lives and support the country through this difficult time.
