50-Not-Out Cricket Launched!

Everyone had a thoroughly enjoyable time, with much talk of how much they had learned and how much they are looking forward to next week. The first session focussed on catching and the basics of batting. The whole group said how surprised they were at how much you could learn about the seemingly simple, yet surprisingly complex task of throwing and catching!

This is also a new style of coaching for Rachel and Mick from Durham Cricket Board. They both said how much they enjoyed working with the group who felt they should be “treated just like Year 3 – but expect more banter!”

This certainly delivers on the aim to provide a new activity that focusses on enjoyment, keeping active and improving health.  The coaching is excellent and the atmosphere really welcoming. Anyone who is interested then the advice is to come along and give this group a try. Make a date for Fridays at 11am to try something new and don’t put it off come down this week!

The sessions cost £2 each and run each 11 am – 12 noon until Friday 20th March in the Indoor Facilities at the Riverside Sport Pavilion.  All equipment is provided during the sessions; you do not require any specialist cricket or sports kit. Just turn up and come prepared for gentle activity!
