“Chester-le-EATS is only in its second year, but we’ve already upped the ante with a jam-packed food, drink and music line-up and entertainment for people of all ages. Thousands flocked to last year’s event, and we hope people are getting excited about this year’s festival,” said Rob Warren, Durham Cricket’s Venue Director.

“Seat Unique Riverside, the home of Durham Cricket, is not only known globally for its sporting events but for putting on top-class concerts with the likes of The Who, UB40, Sir Rod Stewart and Boy George gracing the stage this year. Our aim has always been to expand our events calendar and deliver a varied programme which not only appeals to people outside the area but to our local community too,” he added.

A spokesperson from Chester-le-EATS event sponsors StayLocal, a new promotion and discount platform bringing local independent traders and shoppers together, said: “It is so exciting for us to launch StayLocal at Chester-le-Eats. We believe that local, independent traders are the essence of a local economy, the lifeblood of our highstreets and the much-needed flavour, colour, and fight in what are ever homogenised and underfunded village, town and city high streets.’”
