2013 promises to be a momentous year for Durham County Cricket Club, which will be the 21st season as a first class county, and now with the fixtures being confirmed and Durham can now plot their assault on glory.
Durham’s season begins in front of a home crowd at Emirates Durham ICG as the lads face Somerset on 10th April.
Local rivals Yorkshire will visit Emirates Durham ICG soon after on April 24th to face Durham in the LV=County Championship. Durham Dynamos then kick off their Clydesdale Bank 40 campaign as Essex Eagles make the long trip to the North East on May 5th.
Durham Dynamos will be targeting success in this years Friends Life t20 and begin the 2013 campaign at home to local rivals Lancashire Lightning on Friday 28th June.
The big derby game at Emirates Durham ICG against Yorkshire Carnegie takes place on Friday 12th July, with Durham’s group campaign being completed at home to Derbyshire Falcons on 28th July in a match that could decide whether the Dynamos qualify for the next round.
With Emirates Durham ICG hosting its first Investec Ashes Test match and England men and women facing the Australians in International t20 action this will undoubtedly be the biggest year in the North East’s cricketing history.
