Hollie Armitage and Callum Parkinson claim top awards at Durham’s annual Awards Dinner

Hollie Armitage and Callum Parkinson claimed the top awards at Durham’s Player of the Year Dinner held at Newcastle’s Crowne Plaza, hosted by Steve Cram.

While Matthew Potts and Armitage stole the show with several awards to round off the 2026 season – with the Durham pair both having strong campaigns for Durham.

Potts laid acclaim to three awards as he led Durham’s bowling attack on the route to becoming Rothesay County Championship Division Two champions.

The 27-year-old grabbed the Rothesay County Championship Player of the Year for his 60 wickets in the red ball arena at a bowling average of just 18, including standout figures of 8/66 in a 10-wicket haul against Derbyshire in Chester-le-Street.

The Sunderland-born cricketer also picked up the Men’s Members’ Player of the Year and Men’s Player’s Player of the Year award having taken 79 wickets across red and white ball cricket. His 19 wickets in the Vitality Blast saw him finish as Durham’s top wicket-taker, averaging below 20 with the ball.

Hollie Armitage led from the front to collect the Danielle Hazell Medal and Women’s Members’ Player of The Year as she displayed consistent form with the bat across all three competitions to score a mammoth 1,148 runs.

The Durham captain claimed Vitality Blast Player of The Year with 421 runs at an average of 47, finishing with the second highest run tally in the competition whilst leading Durham to the Final at just the second time of asking.

She also grasped the Women’s Metro Bank Cup Player of the Year award as her 646-strong run total in the Metro Bank One Day Cup was the fourth highest in the competition, featuring centuries against Surrey and Warwickshire alongside five fifties.

Callum Parkinson won the Paul Collingwood Medal, showing his capabilities with bat and ball throughout the 2026 campaign. He claimed two five-wicket hauls including 6/20 against Northamptonshire in addition to vital lower-order batting contributions, scoring his maiden Durham first-class half-century.

Mady Villiers earnt Women’s Players’ Player of the Year after another strong campaign in the North East where she coupled 649 runs with 34 wickets across the Vitality Blast and Metro Bank One Day Cup – including a maiden professional century against Warwickshire alongside several impressive bowling performances.

Will Rhodes picked up the men’s Metro Bank Cup Player of the Year for the second campaign running, where a superb unbeaten 148 and two half-centuries made him Durham’s top scorer in the competition with 415 runs, in addition to his 13 wickets featuring a five-wicket haul against Sussex on the way to the semi-final.

Alex Lees enjoyed another fine white ball campaign as he was voted Men’s Vitality Blast Player of The Year leading the way at the top of the order. The Durham Captain scored his second T20 century against Middlesex as he top scored for Ryan Campbell’s side in the T20 format with 473 runs.

Trudy Johnson relished a breakthrough campaign, showing her capabilities with the ball in hand across both 50-over and T20 formats. The 19-year-old became a consistent feature in the Durham side taking 24 wickets, going on to earn a place at The Hundred with London Spirit.

Luke Robinson went on to reach new heights this summer showcasing his capabilities as a right-arm quick in the One Day Cup. The 22-year-old went on to take Durham’s second most wickets with 14 scalps, claiming career-best figures on the way to the semi-finals.
