Durham are looking to secure their spot in the Metro Bank One Day Cup knockout stages tomorrow, taking on Worcestershire Rapids at New Road from 11am.
Ryan Campbell has named a squad of 14 with Ben McKinney and Callum Parkinson returning to the fold for Durham’s final group game in Worcester.
Both players are set to feature in their first List A game since 2024, returning from their respective campaigns in The Hundred with Southern Brave and MI London.
Campbell’s side would confirm a top three finish with victory against the Rapids, while a second placed finish to gain a home quarter final remains possible.
Graham Clark remains unavailable due to his selection as an injury replacement for Sunrisers Leeds, while Matthew Potts, Brydon Carse, Nathan Sowter and Ben Raine remain on franchise duty ahead of The Hundred finals.
Worcestershire are fifth in Group B having enjoyed four wins from seven and sit on 16 points, four points behind Durham in third place.
The New Road side are without three players to the Hundred with Ethan Brookes, Adam Hose and Adam Finch on franchise duty.
Words from Colin Ackermann
That was a great result against Essex and it was fantastic to bounce back from a disappointing result against Middlesex.
The boys showed real fight. It was really tough up front but David Bedingham and Ben Stokes put the pressure back on them and made it easier for me.
We just had to dig in and play old-school cricket. Then we could wait for the last five overs.
Noah Thain’s been in excellent form in this competition but Will Rhodes is the one-day king. If he’s not scoring runs, he’s taking wickets.
It’s a quick turn around now heading to Worcester, the aim now is to try and finish on a high and see where we finish up on Tuesday night.
Squad v Worcestershire Rapids (11 August)
Colin Ackermann, Kasey Aldridge*, David Bedingham, George Drissell, Shafiqullah Ghafari, Alex Lees, Ben McKinney, James Minto, Duanne Olivier, Callum Parkinson, Will Rhodes, Luke Robinson, Ollie Robinson+, Ben Stokes.
Opposition Corner
Captain: Jake Libby
2025 Position: Winners
2025 Most Runs: Jake Libby (479)
2025 Most Wickets: Ben Allison (19)
Why they can win the competition: They know how to. They won it last season by playing some excellent cricket to reach the final and then showing the strength and skills to win a very tight final with the pressure on.
Player to watch: Fateh Singh. Left out for most of the Blast due to the Rapids signing overseas spinners Sikandar Raza and Usama Mir, Singh took three for 17 when given his belated chance after Raza departed on international duty. He will be mustard keen to send a message or two to the team-selectors.
Young gun: Dan Lategan. Not yet UK-qualified, the 20-year-old opening batter was omitted from the Blast team as the overseas slots went to the spinners. Will be looking to pile up runs to go into the red-ball resumption with momentum high.
Final thought: Last season’s triumph at Trent Bridge was one of the most emotional in county cricket history, a success in tribute to Josh Baker who tragically passed away in 2024. Josh’s legacy lives on through the JB33 Foundation – retaining the trophy would again be very special.
Match Centre
The Club’s match centre will be in operation for the fixture with live scorecards, statistics & video highlights as they happen. You can watch the game live via Durham’s match centre and the Worcestershire YouTube channel.
