Durham to play Men’s One Day Cup game at Darlington

Durham Cricket are thrilled to announce the County will play a Metro Bank One Day Cup fixture at Darlington Cricket Club this summer.

Durham Men’s One Day Cup fixture against Essex on Sunday 9 August will now take place in the South of the County as Durham head to The Feethams Ground.

With Durham regularly taking a List A fixture to South Northumberland in Newcastle, this summer the Club have decided to head to another part of the region to expand cricket to further parts of the North East.

As with the List A match played at South Northumberland, the Club will offer a members bus service to the ground. Information on travel will be communicated closer to the fixture. Anyone who has purchased tickets in advance will remain valid.

Tim Bostock, Durham Cricket Chief Executive said: “We are really excited to be taking another of our Metro Bank One Day Cup games to an out ground – specifically to the South of the region.

“During the 2020 season we had scheduled a match at Darlington Cricket Club only for it to be cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic, therefore it is great news that six years later we are able to host a game at Feethams.

“Out ground cricket is always something a little different to playing at HQ and we look forward to visiting Darlington later in the summer and hopefully putting on a good show for our members and spectators.”

Members and spectators will receive further communications ahead of the match via email and across social media.

Tickets already purchased for this fixture remain valid but the club will contact all purchasers to ensure they are able to attend at the revised venue.
