Durham Women’s Academy go two for two against Yorkshire with Charlotte Stubbs in the runs again and Freya Rook in the wickets.
In the first of two T20s at Norton, Yorkshire elected to bat first but Rook struck twice in the third over to put the visitors on the back foot at 8/2.
Maiya Charlesworth (60) and Elicia Pollard (31) bounced back for the White Rose with a stand of 48 before a flurry of late wickets saw Yorkshire restricted to 115/7.
Rook picked up figures of 3/12 with one maiden from her four overs whilst Emily Whiting claimed a pair of wickets and Abi Glen and Mae Deaville took one apiece.
Harriet Robson added 29 for the hosts before Stubbs came to the crease and guided Durham to a six-wicket victory with an unbeaten 42 featuring five boundaries, sharing 56 with Laura Trotter for the fourth wicket stand.
Durham chose to bat with Stubbs opening the batting and sharing an opening stand of 79 with Emma Thompson.
Stubbs made 45 from 28 balls with five fours while Thompson added 25.
Leah Dobson then pressed home Durham’s advantage striking seven fours as she top scored with 47 from 33 as the hosts posted 158/4.
Pollard top scored for Yorkshire with 45 in response but a pair of wickets each for Amelie Butterwick and Rook, backed up by one scalp for Lilli-Mai Taylor saw the Ds limit Yorkshire to 121/5 achieving victroy by 37 runs.
