Durham Women closed out their pre-season with a valuable warmup against Warwickshire at Banks Homes Riverside.
The hosts got off to a bright start with Sophia Turner and Grace Thompson both striking in the opening two overs.
Meg Austin and Chloe Brewer shared 53 for the Bears before Katie Levick went on to claim wickets in back-to-back overs – going on to take figures of 4/45 in 10 overs.
Bethan Ellis held the rest of the Warwickshire innings together with an unbeaten 71 as they made 252/9 in 50 overs, despite a pair of wickets for Phoebe Turner.
Mary Taylor claimed two early wickets as Durham were three wickets down within six overs, before a pair of departures in the 13th left the hosts 47/5.
Hollie Armitage anchored the response for Dani Hazell’s side with 48 from 68 balls, sharing 54 with Leah Dobson who struck 44 from 56.
By the time the pair were dismissed, Durham found themselves 146/7 and batted on to reach 233 by the time the game was over.
