Walkers & Talkers Community Programme
Gentle walks. Real conversations. Shared stories from the game.
Walkers and Talkers is a free wellbeing programme launching this week at Durham Cricket Foundation, designed to bring people together through light physical activity, conversation and a shared love of cricket.
Each session combines a guided walk around the Durham Cricket grounds with relaxed group discussion and the chance to hear from guest speakers as they reflect on their cricketing journeys, life beyond the game, and the lessons learned along the way.
About the programme
Originally created by former professional cricketer Andrew Brassington, Walkers and Talkers is now delivered at four venues across the UK. The programme offers a welcoming, informal space for people to move at their own pace, connect with others, and enjoy meaningful conversation in a supportive setting.
Durham Cricket Foundation is proud to bring Walkers and Talkers to the region for the first time.
As part of the Foundation’s ongoing commitment to community wellbeing, inclusion and access to physical activity, the programme will be piloted with monthly sessions over the next year and is open to Durham County Cricket Club members and the wider local community.
Light refreshments will be available at each session, including tea, coffee and biscuits, which are provided thanks to the generous support of sponsors and donations.
