Durham Cricket are delighted to announce that Trudy Johnson has signed a rookie contract extension.
Johnson has penned a deal for a further year lasting until the end of the 2026 season.
The all-rounder made her professional Durham debut in the Vitality Blast at Edgbaston and went on to take Durham’s first female professional T20 wicket on home soil against Lancashire, claiming three wickets in five appearances during the T20 competition.
Johnson claimed her maiden professional List A wicket on her One Day Cup debut in September in Chester-le-Street, bowling Surrey captain Bryony Smith.
The 19-year-old featured in the England Under 19s squad for their ICC Women’s U19 World Cup 2025 in Malaysia, having been part of Durham’s pathway since under-10 level making her senior debut for North East Warriors in 2022.
Johnson impressed with the bat for Durham’s academy side scoring over 300 runs with two half-centuries in seven appearances in 2025, while she was also named to feature at the ECB Super4s at Loughborough University in August.
On signing a one-year extension, Trudy Johnson said: “I am delighted to sign for another year with Durham.
“Last year we set a really good foundation and I’m looking forward to continuing this momentum into next season.
“My personal game has grown so much over the last 12 months so for me to have another opportunity next year to continue this growth and contribute where I can is very exciting.
