30th April 2021 Women

Preview: North East Warriors v Yorkshire

The North East Warriors will take on Yorkshire Women in a Bank Holiday Monday double-header in the ECB Women’s County T20 Championships.

The Warriors are still in search of a win after a tough season opener against Lancashire last Sunday, 25th April.

Wicket-keeper Laura Hockaday is unavailable due to injury. Suffering broken fibula, Hockaday is out for the remainder of the Warrors’ fixtures with Mary Butler coming in to take the gloves.

With Hockaday missing from the top of the order, Ciara Boaden comes into the 12 with Hayley Falla missing out this weekend.

With two comfortable wins against Cumbria Women last weekend, Yorkshire will pose another tough challenge to Durham’s and Northumberland’s merged side.

The Warriors, however, trained well last night in three smaller groups at Whickham Cricket Club focusing on match situations and their individual roles in preparation for the games.

The North East Warriors play Yorkshire in two T20 games, starting at 11.30am and 3.00pm on Monday, 3rd May.

The fixtures will be live streamed on Yorkshire Women’s Twitter account: @YorkshireWomens, with the link becoming available on the day of the games.
