Seconds’ 2019 schedule confirmed

Durham’s Second XI will begin the defence of their Championship title at Derbyshire after their 2019 fixture list was confirmed today.

The opening Championship fixture is to be played at Derbyshire’s County Ground, with the North Group finishing with a home match against Worcestershire at Emirates Riverside.

The competitive season opens up with a 50-over Trophy match at Leicestershire, which follows on from early season friendly fixtures against Essex & Scotland.

South North, Hartlepool, Brandon, Burnopfield & Darlington are all slated to host the Seconds in 2019, with venues still to be determined for home matches against Nottinghamshire & Warwickshire.

Ryan Pringle lifted the Championship title after a tense home draw against Essex at the end of last season, with last pair Chris McBride & Ben Whitehead seeing out a tense eight overs to secure the title by virtue of most runs in first innings.
