Those players carrying injuries came along to show their support whilst the remainder were split amongst the sponsors teams. In the team event, where the best two scores were taken per hole, it was Eversheds that came out top with 116 points, pipping Benfield Motor Group to first prize. The Hilton Hotel foursome came in third with 112 points.
Peter Hartley from Lloyds TSB won the award for the best individual event and it was Richard Cook from AIB that took the prize for nearest to the pin.
Durham CCC Sales Manager, Tom Seymour, claimed the longest drive although this was a somewhat contentious point after it was pointed out that he’d borrowed a club to hit the shot!
Speaking at the event Tom Seymour said, “The Durham CCC golf day was a real success. We had great support from over 21 companies and it was an excellent way for our sponsors to meet the players and gave them a superb opportunity to entertain their clients in beautiful surroundings. I’d like to thank everyone that came along for making it such a fun day and, of course, the sponsors for their support.
