James Franklin

An experienced international cricketer with New Zealand who also had spells with five counties, James Franklin has been appointed as Durham’s Lead High Performance Coach to look after first team matters in the Specsavers County Championship & Royal London One-Day Cup.

The 38-year-old took up the role of coaching consultant with Brisbane Heat in Australia’s Big Bash League during the winter & arrived at Emirates Riverside shortly after the conclusion of that competition.

A veteran of 31 Test matches, 110 One-Day Internationals & 38 T20 Internationals, Franklin was a mainstay of New Zealand’s side for over ten years. He then joined Middlesex in 2015, serving as captain when they won the County Championship in 2016.
