Durham Performance Programme

A major part of our work is to identify, train and develop those players with exceptional abilities who may go on to be professional cricketers. We have an extremely robust Performance Programme in place that runs throughout the year to provide numerous opportunities for players to show their talents and progress smoothly to a level their abilities demand.

The performance programme breaks down into three specific segments, which are highlighted below:

League Competitions

Each year we run a League Competition, which sits between County Age Group Cricket for boys and girls and Club Cricket. We set up the competition to bridge the gap between the two.

Sponsored by the Durham Youth Trust, the competition plays a part in our Performance Programme selection process.

League-Based Courses

The League-Based Coaching Courses are the first stage of our annual Performance Pathway process.

The most talented young players form our cricket clubs are nominated by their coaches to attend their respective age group league course where they will be put through their paces by Durham Cricket Board’s team of professional coaches.
